Marvell Settles Shareholder Class Action for $72 Million
A preliminary settlement has been approved in a securities class action filed in August 2007 against Marvell. The suit alleged that the company was backdating stock options. The settlement is for a reported $72 million.

New Mexico to Share in $109 Million Settlement for Securities Class Action
The attorney general of New Mexico, Gary King, has announced that the New Mexico State Investment Council and the Educational Retirement Board will benefit from a potential $109 settlement of a securities class action settlement brought against Ernst & Young and HealthSouth Corp. According to the law firm representing the plaintiffs, this is among the largest settlements obtained to date against an outside auditor in a securities class action.

NPS Pharmaceuticals Settles 2006 Class Action
NPS Pharmaceuticals Inc., has agreed a $15 million settlement for a 2006 securities class action brought by investors who purchased stock in the company between August 7, 2001 and May 2, 2006.

The lawsuit alleged that NPS misled investors about the effectiveness of its osteoporosis drug 'Preos' which resulted in artificially high stock prices.
